For the final round of the TCR International Series, to be held at the Dubai circuit on 17^th and 18^th November, the DG Sport Compétition team will be entering its two Astra. If on the one hand Mat’o Homola will as a matter of course be behind the wheel of his customary mount, as teammate he will have.... Aurélien Comte
The young Frenchman, recent winner of the TCR Europe Trophy at Adria, will in fact take command of the second Astra, the car having been freed by Grégoire Demoustier who has favoured a world programme in Rallycross.
Opel as of now part of the PSA family, Peugeot Sport have given their consent so that one of their development drivers can compete at the highest level in a category in full swing … where the 308 TCR is getting ready to make its grand début..
Discovering the Opel, Aurélien Comte’s mission will be to rack up experience. But knowing his talents and ability to adapt, he could well surprise the observers …and certain competitors.
Christian Jupsin, the DG Sport Compétition Team Manager is delighted with this solution: “First and foremost I wish to thank Mr Demoustier, the boss of Eurodatacar, for the support he has given to this initiative. I’m obviously very pleased to be able to offer Aurélien this opportunity to compete in the final meeting of the TCR International Series in Dubai. He put in a god performance this season with our Peugeot 308 Racing Cup, finishing third in the TCR Benelux in the company of Kevin Abbring, prior to masterfully clinching the European title at Adria. Just like the entire team I know that one must not judge Aurélien’s performance based on this unique meeting at the wheel of a car he is not familiar with and up against drivers accustomed to the pace of international events. He has my full trust when it comes to tackling these two confrontations in an adequate state of mind and take full advantage of this bonus in his 2017 season.”
